To Gif or PNG
Somebody - a linux twat - once bugged me in a chat room about the evil of gif's. Summit to do with license issues that only penguin linux people can get upset over... But hey, PNiGs optimise better methinks

The patent/license
for GIF's ran out last year so they are royalty free now anyway.

Gif patents expire
this year.
Er, in europe that is to say, it's already expired in america.
png animation is done with a different file type (mng?) which if I remember rightly isn't supported by most browsers, if any.
