I'm starting to think it's my ISP too, though i do know other people with blueyonder broadband who aren't getting this problem so i'm still stumped

# Hmm
Do you use a router as well as a modem? I'm a blueyonder user and a few weeks ago my connection kept falling over. It turned out that it was my bloody router/wireless gateway. Despite the fact that the fix was rebooting the modem. One new wireless router later and everything was happy again.

Don't use torrents, so don't know if Blueyonder are arsy about them.
