I don't think it does matter to most peoplebut I think, with regards to Bob's point, is that a lot of people assuming posters here to be your stereotypical male nerd/geek, so if there's a name that's non gender specific, they automatically assume it's a bloke, without even thinking about it.
For me, gender doesn't matter, as I'm sure it doesn't for lots of others around here.

Ifeel like such a fool but I honestly didnt know. i had visited her website and it seemed to suggest to me that there were several people posting here under one name. I always avoided asking & causing offense. I like eclectech mostly becuase she gave me a fluffy picture after I got depressed following a massive argument with an ex.
