I don't think irn bru is illegal, but it's just that customs will turn back any mailed prepackaged foods these days.

FDA legislation. irn bru is flavoured with some pretty weird shit. (ammonium ferric citrate III, fact fans)
there's a US friendly version available, but it tastes diffrent in a very disconcerting way.
