Technically no,the goal wasn't required, we could have won 1-0, but any team 2 goals down on 90 minutes will tend to give up a bit, even France. And any donkey strikers whose team are 2 goals up don't tend to track back and try to defend much.

the 2 goal leadwould've obviously have been a better cushion for us but again i say we were well on our way until heskey gave away the free kick
