and he accepts that the caveats in the intelligence presented to 10 Downing Street did alter the level of threat implied by the dossier, especially the bits that kept stressing that "intelligence is very limited on this issue". However, despite the fact that Tony accepts full responsibility for the fact that he misrepresented intelligence reports to Parliament, and thus led various previously sceptical MPs to believe that Saddam posed a "real and current" threat and so vote approval for the war (which was not in any way in breach of international law, no siree bob), that nice Mr. Lord Butler has said that despite the fact that everyone was at fault, no one is to blame, so leave poor Tony alone.

you're forgetting, The ends justify the means... it doesn't matter that our Prime minister essentially lied to parliament and the country, and Iraq is in a bit of a mess and the whole of the Arab world knows we're a bunch of imperialist bastards, because that bloke we all really hate from the last time we went to war with him is going to be hung and we can all watch
