Robbie Coltrane - porking "Panhandle" whilst in the middle of marital turmoil, and his kid is going bananas.

Solves lots of crimes by superb mental ability and memory (often seen as lucky guesswork a-la Quincy/Columbo). Shouts a lot. Ate all the pies.

Guest starred Robert Carlyle at one point, if memory serves.

when I lived in Australia, and when playing it back simply fast fowarded all the irritating bits when his wife was nagging him, in fact all the home life parts, takes nothing away from the story at all and made it more enjoyable
