i'm quite suprised my brain came up with avarice there at the endseeing as it's 2 in the morning and i'm not really sure what it means but checking shows that it's 1. An excessive or inordinate desire of gain; greediness after wealth; covetousness; cupidity.
Which actually fits astonishingly well into the whole 'zombie's paradise' thing.
