something that may be useful to you - it's quite a large file for what it is, and it doesn't appear to be caching on your web server so the front page hits will probably be hammering your bandwidth... compressing the jpg will help, but you probably want to try and let the image cache too (that depends on your web server, but i suspect it's not caching because of the way you're linking to it with some kind of query)
