this sounds like it has a history...why does your own cat not trust you?
anything to do with your username?
(I have that 'problem' with cats too, mainly due to having big feet, wearing boots, and appearing to be less in control of them than I am. cue worried cat-staring, followed by running-off if I go to stroke* them)
*ok, occasionally kick, but they are supposed to land on their feet, and how else would you test that?
