# Anybody
know what software I need to encode video with DIVX? I've just made a video for my mates band but the goddamn filesize is HUGE! Do I need a magic wand? Where can I get a wand?

Kittens! There, that makes this post less techy.

# The thing is
with this board, I can't tell whether you mean an actual b3ta member or you're just fooling with my mind for the sake of laughter. Maybe both.

# you need
the divx drivers for a start. other than that I've done it using adobe premiere. there's probably some software that'll do what you want on www.tucows.com
try having a look round
www.vcdhelp.com/
or the divx site.

# I use
Avid Cinema 'cause I have an AMD CPU and it don't like Premiere (a fact that makes me cry into my pillow).

Last question: I already have DIVX drivers for watching DIVX avi files, so is that same thing that is used for encoding?

Thanks for the linkee.

# Hey Nastar
... last thing I remember seeing that may be of help would be something like FlaskMPEG. That seemed to do that sort of thing for me. You could rip DVDs to DiVX AVI files...

(allegedly, of course. never touch the thing meself) cough! /runs
