# my great uncle bradford was born with a beard.
the fearsome young newborn one day they feared,
would bring about the end of the world with his face,
so they locked him up tight in an uncomfortable place,

where no one could fall victim to his unholy wrath,
where no one could love him or give him a bath,
and instead all his hatred towards those he once had,
grew and grew up inside him until he went mad.

when he grew strong enough to break free of his jail,
he sought out revenge, he would fight tooth and nail.
but when he arrived at his parents' front door,
he realized he could not continue anymore.

he rang the doorbell and then stepped inside.
and he said 'I am bradford, the son you threw aside.'
his parents gasped loudly and said 'It can't be!'
for the beard had disappeared entirely.

in his haste for revenge, bradford had not seen,
that his beard was now gone and his face was clean.
he said, 'Now you see? The world has not ended.'
his parents embraced him and cried out, 'How splendid!'

# i was supposed to meet him.
but he died a couple days before i got the chance.

# too bad.
he was a pretty decent guy, and very odd. i wrote to him years ago, and he wrote back -- we exchanged letters every once in a while after that.

i think he'd be terribly amused if someone dug him up and kept his bones in a glass display box.
