they ripped me off £300 quid because they thought i was clicking them myself repeatedly. never did.

i.e. catch real people who've read the ad and click to find out more.
Random or automatic clicking isn't of any use to anyone.
For the advertiser = higher price, but no more exposure
For google = makes their service look less effective, hence lower sales
For the publisher (i.e. b3ta) = we can get booted from the system
