# Woo!
And completely unrelated...
Sarah Beeny's property tip of the day!

'DO NOT buy the house in the middle of the M62.
(unless of course you want to open a truckstop...)'

# hahaha
or if you like crossing motorways. and noise. and you want to live in a crumbling old shed

# In estate agents blurb;
"within easy reach of transport links"

EDIT: Trying to post pic of similar house, but my FTP's sponged!! :-(

# I can walk to the M62 from my back
garden in about 4 minutes. In order to actually get on it takes 20 minutes drive West and over 10 minutes drive East!

# You should call in your local gypsy 'driveway specialists'
to build you a personal junction (in the middle of the night, of course)

# there is a police access point
that I used to use all the time about 20 years ago. Sadly now I've moved back I found they have put a huge steel gate on there replete with massive chain and lock. Miserable buggers.

# I can't remember exactly where..
but somewhere on the M1 is a junction which used to be an emergency access point, which was then opened to all-comers, next to a growing town
*cue traffic jams and accidents...

# When I had my pub
in Newport Pagnell it was always easier to come off at the services than either of the MK north or south junctions. A deft drive behind the cop shop and lift of a barrier and I was half a mile from the pub instead of 8-10. Sadly now they have electronic gadgetry and posts that rise from the floor. But then I don't live there anymore so fuggem.

# Haha, that place is the stuff of legend.
Actually as a kid I always wanted to live there, I thought it would be cool. It's a shabby old farm now and worth dog shit.
I'll never know the true story ( there are loads ) but the simplest is that when he ( Ken Wilde, the owner ) was holding out for more and more compensation the MOT just decided to go around him and build him access tunnels. Stubborn bastard whatever the truth, he's still there.
