that I used to use all the time about 20 years ago. Sadly now I've moved back I found they have put a huge steel gate on there replete with massive chain and lock. Miserable buggers.

in Newport Pagnell it was always easier to come off at the services than either of the MK north or south junctions. A deft drive behind the cop shop and lift of a barrier and I was half a mile from the pub instead of 8-10. Sadly now they have electronic gadgetry and posts that rise from the floor. But then I don't live there anymore so fuggem.

Actually as a kid I always wanted to live there, I thought it would be cool. It's a shabby old farm now and worth dog shit.
I'll never know the true story ( there are loads ) but the simplest is that when he ( Ken Wilde, the owner ) was holding out for more and more compensation the MOT just decided to go around him and build him access tunnels. Stubborn bastard whatever the truth, he's still there.
