I bought a new BMW oncedrove it for a year then thought.. sod this. I then bought a 'clapped outish' Rover 216 for 250 pounds and drove it for 4 years until it failed its MOT due to rust.
The only thing I ever did was give it new brake linings and a new battery. I loved that car. I never worried about it getting stolen or scratched or being parked outside.
