I know you wanted to learn how to vector but why is it pixelly? if you used a bezier pen and paths then it should be completely smooth and scaleable.
Nothing wrong with what you have produced, I like it but it's not a vector drawing from where I sit.
Just to be clear, what you have made looks more like a hand drawn picture, which is ten times better than a vector drawing because any old no-talent fool ( Julian Opie ) can make vector tracings.

It's better because it's NOT a proper vector. I have a feeing tha PS 7 still makes use of the pen tool ( not seen it in a year or two and I was not much of a shopper myself back then ) but either way it's not sucky.
There are some free tools for it if you google for 'vector drawing tutorial".
