I understand the draw but I'd suggest getting a Canon or a Nikon and a new memory card. It'd be more rewarding in the long run to have a better camera.

and spend a few quid and you can get one as good as any Nikon, it's just a pain in the arse that the XD memory costs the earth in comparison.

Personally I've always found the compact types a bit cheap feeling, clunky and generally less than tip-top. The slr ones seem good, but I've not played with them much.

My Olympus is quite user friendly if you want a compact, and xd is not THAT expensive - still less than £20 for a 256mb card
