# Just a wistful question
No matter how many times I tell Messenger to turn off those advert tabs (expedia, lastminute.com) they always come back. Is it just me, or have Microsoft stopped me from doing this?

# and relief washes over me
that I don't use it. Logging off soon...

# Microsoft are c*nts
(Allegedly), and that's why I don't think you can turn them off....

# I use trillian
It's not perfect by any means, but (imho) it's a sight better than MSN Messenger itself.

# What's
that?

# go to
www.trillian.cc and grab it, it's a multi-messy client that connects to AOL, IRC, Yahoo, ICQ, and MSN all at once!

AND there's no ads, and it's skinnable too!

# The
thought of that almost caused me to wet my pants...

edit: 2.25M !!!! Bugger that, I'll wait until I'm back in work (ADSL) and download it there.... I'm only on dialup @ home, which is being slower than a snail with a brick on it's back trying to get through honey....

# The really REALLY
nice thing is that you can use multiple accounts... More than one Yahoo/ICQ/MSN (maybe AOL too, not sure) ID? Simply add them both, and see all your friends at once!

(Don't do this if one ID's a lurking one though, 'cause it'll combine your contact lists...)

Edit: yes, just over 2 megs... but compare that to 7megs for MSN and about 10 for ICQ (and more if you want to do stupid stuff like, oh f'rinstance, manage message history...)

# its pretty good
but i prefer mIRC for using IRC ,...but everything else is cool :o)

# I have that
But I only chat to people on MSN, so I haven't add a reason to use it yet. But it does look cool.

# go to preferences
tell it it's a shared computer so don't display your tabs
(, Wed 25 Dec 2002, 21:23, archived)
# Yeah
It seems it's happened to a few people. That shared computer thing worked (a forum suggested it too), but it's odd that it happened over Xmas, and I haven't updated or anything. They just snuck it in. The shits.
