# I've heard the other arguments.
I just think people are afraid to say it could have anything to do with a person's personality because they would have to say there's something immoral about having depression, which wouldn't be very helpful.

And that's all I'm going to say on the subject.

# not at all, the root cause of the depression is sometimes (as in my case) linked to something externally
it doesn't always get triggered by feeling all emo, although in some cases, people do thrive on the attention of feeling depressed, I grant you.
in my case, getting mugged three times, the last time being lucky to be alive after being knifed, and having to drop out of Uni because of it kinda played a big part in the whole depression leading to breakdown thing...
but with the right help, and patience, I built back up, and I know I'm not alone in having been 'externally' affected, leading to depression...
It's a tough area to deal with, I take your point entirely, but its a wider subject than that, by a long shot

# Apart from teh usual childhood / adolescent shit we all go through
I had no external influences to speak of when I had my 'episode'. I still get them every so often, even with a healthy dose of legal narcotics.

Apparently - in my case at least - it's due to a chemical imbalance in the brain.

That, and I'm just a miserable snappy bitch, obviously...

# ha ha ha ha, obviously *he said, before scarpering* ;-)
But that just goes to show that there are both depression caused by internal and external factors...

# IT's almost guaranteed
that I will love any movie relating to time travel.* I don't know why. Maybe I'm looking for tips on how to get back to my own time.

*except Time Cops, obviously
