And why is everyone using the same format? Am I living in some alternate universe where every poster that's ever been created isn't identical stylistically, or are people just boring?

That's the format of the Demotivational Posters (and the Motivational ones for that matter).

Why shouldn't it be in the same format? The compo isn't about style, it's about the message.
