East isn't a lot better.But South isn't too bad I suppose. The Swan and sugarloaf is OK (or used to be anyway) and the random comedy club is alright.

Yeah, the Swan is a good pub.The comedy club has moved, though don't know where. Favourite watering hole for me has to be The Treehouse. I just bought a flat next door.
