I've been thinking about this for a bitI just added the first ajaxy bit here and thought 'hmm... that was easy... wonder what else we could use it for...'
But for there to be any point to this, you'd have to refresh just that one thread, rather than the whole page. And remember not to refresh if the thread had any reply boxes open. And fix up the zebra stripes afterwards too. And try to find some heuristic for when to refresh the whole page anyway. So tricky, but certainly doable.

heh wasn`t thinking of anything that fancy!just posting the reply via ajax and leaving the comment boxes visible on the screen, so you could rattle out a few replies without grabbing a full board refresh each time

edit: I guess what I`m getting at is that quick reply isn`t that quick :) quick edit would also be good
