I've also had a problem with the tesco value valentine card photograph being used without permission by newspapers and magazines.

write to the advertisers and let them know that it is your image they have used.
If you are feeling cocky, request that they pay you for the time it took you to make it.
If you are not, ask them if they'd like you to make any more adverts for them (at a price, of course).
At the end of the day, they are making money off your back - and the Jay Leno show is a pretty big free advert for them.
