three high speed rail linksin this country would cut the need for virtually all domestic air travel. London to Cardiff, London to Birmingham then Manchester and Glasgow and Birmingham to Edinburgh via Leeds and Newcastle. Other countries made the investment in the 70s and 80s, we never bothered.
