when they were funny Stan Laurel wrote it all.

Once they left Hal Roach, as far as I know, they lost control and the films
were either less funny or not funny at all.

They did play the palladium as old men in the 1950s.

And - I love Norman Wisdom, too. Just bought the kids Early Bird when he is the
milkman in Mr Grimsdale's dairy and somebody gives the horse some apples
injected with hallucinogens - very funny.
