Ok, then how about a vote in the news letter?
I know rob comes on and complains a lot about there not being enough content and a vote for that weeks compo would add a few more lines.
If the QOTW compo thing isnt being used there is no point in relying on it. Maybe if you had the vote at the top it would get used more.
This isnt so much about getting good or bad compo entries, its more about the feeling of control over the compos. If you take control away by choosing for us and it doesnt work then we blame you. If we have control then we strive to make better entries.

The QOTW
thing works when people think the suggestion is good. Last week's challenge was suggested this way, and the amount of support it received was huge. So it got used, and other people still complained - and I doubt there is a challenge that'd keep everyone happy. Which is fine.
