
That was the L96A1 single shot version. I hated it when they kept repeatedly jamming when firing live rounds...

When I was a younger 'un, I didn't cock it hard enough and I didn't whack the magazine in securely enough. End result is that I sorta lodged a round in the mechanism, all it needed was a good whack.
The only time the Cadet GPs jam is when the cadets don't clean them properly or aren't brutal enough with it for their size. Also, all the regulars I've talked to about it said that they're now happy with the A2.
But our soldiers oughtn't be getting fucked like that in the first place. Britain goes everywhere the US does, we've got less man-power and less of decent equipment... and the septics are overstretched...
