Yeah, umthe problem with .gif is that the transparency has to be all or nothing; what you want is .png. While it doesn't work in IE, it's better than nothing.

I did experiment with levels of transparency, but I rather liked it as it was.

IE7 supports PNG format.I'm getting tired of hearing how PNG files are huge. They're just badly optimised!
