# it's all very glasscock
surely people have seen stuff like eliza before?

# yep
but i still find it very funny, as do a lot of people.
At least i didn't waste a thread with it.

# yeah
but this one builds a database from what other people tell it, so you can get some wonderfully weird responses

# i suppose having done many artificial intelligence
courses i don't find it interesting any more... ho hum ;)

# not me
hence me liking. was eliza in the 90's? quite a few peeps won't remember it then, as they were babies/drunk/drunk babies then.

the novelty will wear off, don't worry.

# I used a copy of elize
In the EMACS text editor in 1993.
So it must be WAY older than that.

# it's not really that good
is that the one that's linked to icq - bloody thing contacted me and starting chatting!

Was impressed that it picked up my home town and started making comments about the football team though. Pity it picked the only bloke in Bolton not interested in football.

Like any other AI, it falls over badly if you start asking it 'why' questions.

An up to date Eliza would be *much* more fun
