Well, to me, it just sounds like you want to have an argument.The mods are here to police the site. If an image is NSFW in their eyes, they will remove it. If you don't think they are doing their job, then feel free to moan at them too.
Of course, this all comes back to the old forum-saying of 'If you don't like it, leave'.
If you are afraid of seeing something NSFW, then don't come to a site which could feature it, whilst at work.
I'm sure there people out there, waiting for your to click on hide, just so they can go 'Right, quick, he's clicked hide, post all your NSFW images now!'.
The tools are there to avoid the images. If you want to view the site without using them, then you have nobody to blame but yourself.
