Outlook is great if you only want to use your computer for E-Mail and Calendar. Ever.
If you try and open anything else alongside to Outlook 2007 the machine gets incredibly slow every time a new e-mail arrives or any other Outlook task starts.
I feel that problem will go away as M$ release updates though.

i noticed that on my PC too.
Setting Outlook to only run off one core helps (but not by much), if of course you have a dual core processor.

At work I do,
but the machine does that much day to day it'll make little difference. I use a lot of programming and data analysis tools. It's not uncommon for the machine to be at 90-100% overall CPU usage.
At home, I have an old AMD Sempron machine (which barely counts as one core). But I don't use Outlook at home.
