Oh totallyThey're bigger therefore easier to handle, less wriggly, more likely to just snuggle in your jumper sleeve and go walkabout with you, and are SO much more intelligent. Like little dogs.
My first rat used to go literally everywhere with me, he claimed a little wicker basket with flaps as his own and from that day forth he basically lived in it. I took him to Morrisons, to the library, to the hairdressers....
