It is possible...
...but not easy. I don't believe the PS2 has such a thing as a 'VGA Cable' like the xbox does. What I do, is I have a scan rate converter from Maplin, I can connect up to three normal TV devices to a PC monitor - I have freeview, PS2 and retro schizzle all connect thru it to my PC monitor.
Can't quite remember what it's called - it's something like VGA converter. Cost £25 about 6 months ago, but I think they were in Fire Sale.

I can't...
...find the product that I bought, I think it's discontinued. This link should help, but the options all seem to cots £70 - £100. I suppose a USB TV adaptor would be cheaper - just make sure you get on that can handle Analgoue signals, and has a breakout box so you plug in a Composite Video device.
