And not all of them are that toxic, but some have enough venom to kill hundreds - as ever, don't beieve everything you read in Wikipedia. Oddly enough it seems to be at least partly based on their diet, they quickly become 'safe' in captivity.

in terms of toxicity per unit venom a number of snakes and the cone shell are all ranked above them.
