I'm a true story. I got a bunch of this dumb shit on my forearms when I was 15. I'll be starting laser treatment in 7 months to remove the 14 characters. I say 7 months because unfortunately when I as 17 I got some even dumber shit on my entire left hand that I am currently undergoing laser treatment for, and I cannot afford to do all of the treatments at once.
I paid $20 for the one on my hand and it costs $4k to remove it. It would make a great photoblog post! The ones on my forearms probably ran around $400, maybe a little more and they're going to be $7k to remove. Let me add that this laser is no fun either. It's worse than a tattoo gun, and the swelling and blisters that follow I could sure do without. I believe they call this 'paying for your mistakes'. Needless to say, I won't be getting anymore tattoos.
To top it all off (I think the thousands of dollars tops it off just fine, don't get me wrong) I was in an asian buffet a few years ago and the server got a little giggly and offered a translation of a pair of the Kanji symbols I have. I told her that they said 'Life' and 'Death'. She said 'Life' was correct, but the other meant 'Lonely'.
I'll be happy when they're all gone and I look like a normal person again.

I work with 18 year old kid who got tattooed on the back of his neck what he was told was criminal in Chinese
But the characters translated to a word they used for prisoner and or scum .
The big problem I worked for a PC hardware manufacturer we had a bunch of Asian people working with us they where wondering why he had that tattooed on the back of his neck .

You can get away with printing 安売婦 (cheap slut) instead of 女力 (girl power) and your excuse if you get caught: I am from Kansai where do different grammatical constructions over there.

I had a vivid dream once where I let a tattoo artist decide the design of the tattoo that I wanted on my leg. When he was done making the tattoo I was amazed how beautiful the colors were. It was a collage and it had bright vivid colors like some Japanese packaging. As I looked closer at the design, I discovered the Mac Donald's logo in the collage and I became mortified. For me, I am lucky it was just a dream; for this kid, he is lucky it is a fake story; for the people who regret their tattoos, I guess I understand your feelings, at least, a little bit. We all make mistakes in life.

HARDCORE

"Mine simply says FRUNK. The letters are so beautiful and flow so smoothly into each other. The word actually means old soul with young spirit in English. How cool is that?"
