# I like it
as do many.

I wouldn't advise you read the first 2 discworld books first, as they are a bit odd (not really found his own funny style yet, to my mind).

A good introductuion that doesn't rely too much on previous stories would be.... hmmm...

discworld wise, Mort or Pyramids I reckon.

and Good Omens is non-discworld and EXCELLENT and kinda gives you a feeling for both Pratchett and Gaiman (who I also endorse).

# Oh right, I just assumed you should read them in order.
So I should skip "The colour of magic" then? Will I miss exposition?

# Noooo!
Don't skip them, they're the Rincewind books. They're ace.

But he does have a few standalone books which are good to start with, I suppose. Maybe read Mort first and then The Colour of Magic + Light Fantastic.

# I find that
The Colour of Magic
and
The Light Fantastic
while ace, don't fit with the other discworld books. The style is a bit less developed and seems to hold onto more traditional-fantasy roots.

that's all
