I was looking into soft-modding it
Apparenly if you have a SATA port on your motherboard in your home pc, you can remove the DVD drive from the console and connect it to the SATA port - it's possible to flash the DVD drive to play backups through a floppy boot disk by doing this.
Found an 8meg word doc on it (pics included). Not got an Xbox anymore though lol

its really easy to do. Hence the reason i fixed mine myself cos microshaft didnt want to know! :b
