'ningMy brother taught me to 'use the magic wand ffs' and it won't select what I want it to select (the areas weren't big enough). Any tips?

Yep.1. Hold SHIFT while clicking the wand, to add more selections to your selection
2. Increase the Wand Tolerance (e.g. from 10 to 40)
3. Check the 'anti-alias' and 'contiguous' checkboxes
4. ....
5. Profit!
