# pedant time
the stories intermingle to a fair degree - there's a few nods to black mesa (half life) in Portal, and Aperture Science is set to feature prominently in Half Life 2 ep 3.

Just sayin'.

# Hence the "same world" comment
Not disagreeing with anything you've said, but I wouldn't call it a spin-off of Half-Life 2. A spin-off of Narbacular Drop perhaps, but I doubt most people have played that.

# I have.
It's free and it's great.

In fact, after playing Narbacular for about 20 minutes I ran into town and tried to get Orange Box, failed, then realised I get buy it on Steam.

It's the only reason I boot my macbook into Windows lately.

I have Cubase SX3 for Mac OS X, gaz me if you need a copy.

I still run Cubase Audio on my Falcon030.

# I'd argue it's more of a spiritual successor to NB than a spinoff
but you'd tell me to shut up because it's not really that important, and I'd concede
