I know, several of my mates are still there, and my missus lived there between the ages of 5 and 22,
and I can honestly say that the people I've been lucky enough to meet on my numerous trips across that country have been the most fucking wonderful individuals - as talkers, listeners, companions and trustworthy friends, as well as for getting drunk and having a laugh with.
It makes me so angry to see the way they're treated by a twat minority in this country...often simply for being prepared to do jobs that a lot of English people sniff at (until the opportunity is taken away from them by a less arrogant/lazy nation - then it's all 'hey! that was mine, foreigner...' blah fucking blah. Arseholes.)

so, so right
if some of our youngsters weren't so busy whining, mugging, taunting and intimdating people, going on about how life is so bad to them,
they could actually graft a bit and start earning themselves out of the hole they 'think' they're in.
Not just about the money, but having a relatively stable force in your life does tend to mean the rest of it falls into place quite nicely
Christ, I've just turned into the human form of the Daily Mail

It's just that the vast majority of Polish people I've met have such a spot-on attitude.
Philosophical, wry, self-deprecating but determined...I mean take this guy, what a fucking legend:

Is he bitter? Twisted? Full of hate and destructive rage? Is he fuck, he's already talking about getting back on the horse and having a better time of it tomorrow. As opposed to kicking the shit out of a phone box.

It's an attitude and spirit which I wish the majority here still had :)
having to teach some of the 'up-&-coming' construction industry's finest, it does depress me somewhat.
The 16-20 year olds I teach are seriously driving me towards quitting the part time lecturing altogether. There is an air of 'can't be arsed' among all of them - even the bright ones.
