I've got a tatty cheap squier teleSure, it's no Fender, but it sounds pretty good all the same, and has been damaged and hacked up a bit (non-stock neck pickup, new pots and switches, controls fully reversed (switch in front position selects bridge pickup...))
Also, I'd damage an expensive guitar, too, I'm crude and clumsy...
