# that's not the right name for them, but i can't recall what they're called.
they're the round (sometimes oval) lamps where the outer shell is paper or plastic or acetate, and the inner shade is acetate and it spins around a bulb. they typically have chase scenes drawn on them here, and are aimed at kids. i see promo ones for crappy disney movies sometimes.

i bought one cheap, ripped it apart and drew new chase scenes on a sheet of acetate then replaced the dolphins-on-acetate that the original had.

i know they have a name, but i can't think of it.

# You can do similar things with a thin-fan-over-a-candle type setup.

# I got one as a kid from my grandma.
It was a german christmas-type thing. It had spinning cherub-types, and they'd ring bells while they span around.

My mum hated it.

# It was a candle thingy.
I had an open fire in my bedroom as a kid.

My mum just used to hate the bells.
