there's all kinds of things wrong with it.
I deal with that shit a lot. Sure you can sort of, more or less work around the problems but when you take a good look at the thing it's just a piece of willfully broken crap. Just about everything dealing with transparency is broken, event handlers are completely non-standard, inserting properties in the global object for every element with an id is brain dead and select options can't be disabled in any way, even though that has been standardized for more than a decade, just to name a couple of things off the top of my head.

just because it is no
longer working in the same manner as it used to is no reason to slag it off. It's become more proprietary, so? Work with it. There is no more proprietary software than Mozilla and people figured that out. Work with FF3 and tell me that is any easier.
