Brian Greeneonce did a show on telly where he compared braneworld models with a loaf of sliced bread. There are so many things wrong with this analogy that I don't like to think about it. The worst is the idea that someone might pull our brane from the rest and spread the cosmic equivalent of margerine all over it.
