Doesn't the whole Stormtrooper thingget explained in the new film? They're very necessary as anyone who intends to be even slightly evil (and Darth and the Emp are pretty high on the evil scale) needs an army of willing idiots to send charging to their death in pursuit of the hero.

Hmm, think so.I don't understand why they bothered to replace an army of droids (never get sick, no morals, totaly subservient etc) with a bunch of incompetent, vat grown men in plastic suits. Good job they did though, I couldn't see Luke passing himself of as a droid very convincingly.

It wouldtake too many of those control ships, which are easily disabled by small children accidently crashing in to them. The risks are too high.

Something aboutDroids being crap like you say. Mind you Stormtroopers carn't hit the side of a barn a 1 pace - which always makes me laugh when obi wan says only stormtroopers are this procise when they come accross the freakinsh hooded chaps car(thinG) in starwars4(or 1 depending on your point of view)
