Well I don't say trace on the grounds that I take "drawing lines over something" to mean trace.
Not using paths to colour sections of pixels to form a picture.
But that's just me.

i take trace to mean taking a source image and then doing anything over the top of that source image
without adding anything new onto the source image, that is. i mean, drawing a hat upon an image of a cat isn't a trace.
