geeky?
well, i guess anyone writing equations *is* a bit geeky so yeah. though i've taken to using it instead of a word processor pretty much the whole time.

Well, I suppose it's considered geeky
in the sense that it takes longer to figure out than Word does. A bit like the difference between people who use software packages to design web pages and those who prefer to code in HTML.

I embrace my geekiness :)
(I prefer to code in HTML, too. That says a lot. I also disdain all these WYSIWYG LaTeX editors and just use Emacs. Even on Windows. Fucking hell, I really am a nerd.)

I use VI
for a lot of programming, especially Makefiles and small changes to source codes, including LaTeX source. For dealing with a bigger document I'll use Emacs.
