I fear that it has much to do with the lack of strong nationwide traditions in englandYes, there are morris dancers and plenty of things from history which could be better commemorated, but many of these things have been shunted out by the influence of american culture.
I dare say, the smug twunt in his silly sunglasses and his H&M jacket would probably have phrased his sentence more like 'Like, it's all so totally dumb, you know? Like, what? Morris dancers? Like, uh, yeh right'
