Lycra?!Wouldn't that just look shockingly appaling. I would imagine to get tentacles working you would need some kind of latex/rubber/possibly foam and then coat it in lots of uber clear drying glue so it looks like it is covered in dribbling ooze.

Lycra's best for stretching over bent wire and not having it bunch too much.It's also cheap, easy to stitch, strong, comes in a huge array of colours and prints and skims over any holes in stuffing well.
