There must be:
A fat jolly one that eats and burps.
A thin, sensible and wise one.
A 'black' one - i.e. jive talkin and 'street'
A shy, timid, but reluctantly heroric one.
A medium, all rounder that is the leader and at some point in the film falls out with the gang over a misunderstanding, mopes around contemplating things to some sad music, and then gets back together just in time to save the day at the end of the film, and learns an important moral that is shoved in your face.
Over the hedge and Bugs life (yes - i hates that!) is probably the worst example of such stereotypes.
Wall-e looks intresting, but im a bit worried that it might be a bit kiddified and moral-infested due to the lack of brad bird! Still - the main character cant talk, so that should be different. Ive always thought characters in pixar movies 'overact' and talk way too much.
